about
A pharmacist who builds and explains things.
I'm Usama — a pharmacist by training, a builder by habit, and an explainer by temperament.
For a while I went all-in on AI. I still build with it every day — but I was only telling one part of the story. I'm interested in more than software: how medicines actually work, what the evidence really says about the supplements everyone's arguing about, and how to learn hard things in public without pretending I've got it figured out.
So this is the rebuild — one place for the three things I can't stop doing: explaining health honestly, building products in the open, and writing about whatever I'm learning. The thread tying them together is simple: evidence over hype. I'd rather tell you "we don't know yet" than sell you a clean story that isn't true.
The official bit: I'm a GPhC-registered pharmacist (MPharm). So when I grade a study, I read it the way I was trained to — looking for what holds up, and what's just a good headline.
What I do here
- Health — supplements and medicines, graded by the evidence, in plain English.
- Building — AI and software I ship, in the open. See what I'm building →
- Learning — essays on whatever I'm figuring out.
The best way to follow along is the newsletter — one graded breakdown a week. If you'd like to work together, here's how.
